small road trip, anyone?
The end to this long, hard semester is near. I'm starting to think about ways to celebrate, once it's done. Conveniently enough, my most favoritest band in the entire world is on tour right now, and will be playing in Albany on Saturday, May 13 at the 58th Albany Tulip Festival. The show has been on and off the tour schedule they've been sending out in their e-mail newsletters, but they're still listed on the Tulip Festival entertainment page, and the date is still on their low-key tour schedule page, so I'm convinced it's on. This will be a free show, people! But alas, my DH cannot go to this show with me, as he has to work that weekend.
So, who's up for a road trip to see They Might Be Giants (for free!)? C'mon, I know one of you must want to come with me! Here, I'll sweeten the pot: OK Go is also playing, and there's a craft show... I'll pay for gas and tolls, and if you're really nice, I might let you drive Lucy for part of the way (so I can knit in the passenger seat, heheh). Did I mention that the shows are all free? This is massive value for your entertainment dollar.
So who's in? Leave me a comment &/or send me an e-mail to let me know.
What's that, you say? You'd like to come with me, but you're afraid you won't know any of the songs because you haven't been keeping up with TMBG lately? Never fear! You can download their supremely bitchin' podcasts on iTunes! In theory, you should be able to click here to subscribe! If that doesn't work, there are detailed downloading instructions on the TMBG website.
And with that said, it's back to last-minute cramming for the chem final for me. Oh, the freedom of summer break is so close I can smell it, taste it, and feel it making the little hairs on the back of my neck stand up! I just have, like, 30-40% of my final grades to earn in 3 of my 5 classes before I can relax, that's all.
